عربية \ سلمان زين الدين لعل أبرز ما يميز رواية الرحلة عن سواها من الروايات هو أن أحداثها حقيقية، وأمكنتها جغرافية، وأزمنتها تاريخية، وشخوصها من لحم ودم، الأمر الذي ينطبق على رواية “درب الملح”، الأولى للكاتبة البريطانية رينور وين، الصادرة عن “المجلس الوطني للثقافة والفنون والآداب” الكويتي، في سلسلة “إبداعات عالمية”، بترجمة حنان مظفر. والرواية سبق أن تأهلت لجائزتي ويرنرايت وكوستا الأدبية عام 2018، ونالت جائزة كريستوفر بلاند للجمعية الملكية للآداب، وترجمت إلى عديد من اللغات. أما صاحبتها فهي الكاتبة رينور وين التي تعيش مع زوجها موث وكلبهما مونتي في مقاطعة كورنوال البريطانية. في الجغرافيا، “درب الملح” هو درب الساحل الجنوبي الغربي الذي يبلغ طوله 630 ميلاً، ويمتد من ماينهيد في الشمال الغربي، حتى بول في الشمال الشرقي، مروراً بلاندزإند في أقصى الجنوب، بحسب الخريطة التي تصدر بها الكاتبة روايتها. وتحيط بها القناة الإنجليزية من الشرق، والمحيط الأطلسي من الغرب والجنوب. وضعيتان روائيتان الرواية البريطانية في الترجمة العربية (المجلس الوطني للثقافة والفنون والآداب ـ الكويت) في الرواية، تمتد “درب الملح” بين وضعيتين روائيتين، تمثل الأولى حالة من الضياع يعيشها بطلا الرواية إثر وضع اليد على منزلهما وفقدانهما المأوى والعمل والدخل. وتعبر عنها الروائية/ الراوية بالقول: “… لكننا الآن تركنا هائمين، دون ملاذ آمن نعود إليه، نطفو وسط الضباب على طوف من اليأس لا نعلم أي شاطئ سيلقانا، أو ما إذا كان هناك شاطئ على الإطلاق” (ص 35). وتمثل الثانية حالة من الأمل بالمستقبل وتلمس بداية جديدة للحياة، وتعبر عنها بالقول: ” لقد استغرق الأمر كل شيء مادي، وتركني مجردة، صفحة فارغة في نهاية كتاب مكتوب جزئياً. لقد أعطاني أيضاً خياراً، إما ترك هذه الصفحة فارغة أو الاستمرار في كتابة القصة بأمل. واخترت الأمل” (ص 327). وبين الوضعيتين سلسلة من التجارب يعيشها البطلان، ورحلة ملحمية يقومان بها، ومخاض عسير يخوضان غماره. تتمخض جميعها عن قدرة الإنسان على التكيف مع نوازل الحياة، وأهمية أخذه القرار بيده، وعدم الاستسلام لما تمليه عليه الطبيعتان البشرية والأرضية. جور مزدوج تجور الطبيعتان البشرية والأرضية على وين وزوجها موث في بداية الرواية، يتمظهر جور الأولى في غدر صديق وظلم قاضٍ، ويترتب عليه وضع اليد على منزلهما والمزرعة التابعة له في ويلز، صيف 2013، وخسارتهما المأوى والعمل والدخل. ويتمظهر جور الثانية في إصابة موث بمرض الضمور القشري الخطير. وفي مواجهة هذا الجور المزدوج، يتخذ الزوجان قرار السير على درب الساحل الجنوبي الغربي لمسافة 630 ميلاً، وعدتهما حقيبتا ظهر، وقليل من طعام، وبقية من مال، وكتاب بادي ديلون دليلاً للرحلة. وهكذا، يضعان لهما هدفاً بعد أن خسرا كل شيء، ويفران من واقع قاتم إلى آخر مجهول، ما يشكل بداية رحلة ملحمية، تبدأ من ماينهيد في الشمال الغربي، في مرحلة أولى. ثم تبدأ من بول في الشمال الشرقي، في مرحلة ثانية. وتنتهي المرحلتان في بولروان، على المستوى الجغرافي. وهنا، تتقاطع النهايتان الجغرافية والروائية، وتشكلان معاً بداية لحياة جديدة، ترهص بها الرواية دون أن تخوض فيها. رواية “درب الملح” بالإنجليزية (أمازون) يشكل الزوجان وين وموث ثنائيا شجاعاً. لا يستسلمان لنوازل الدهر. ويحولان النهاية القاتمة إلى بداية جديدة. ويشرعان في مغامرة غير مضمونة العواقب. ويتحملان وعورة الدرب، وثقل الأمتعة، وتقلب الطقس، والنوم في العراء، وندرة المال، وقلة الطعام، وفقدان الدواء، وتنمر الغرباء، والجوع والعطش والتعب. ويترجحان بين حضيض اليأس إلى حد تمني الموت في لحظات الضعف، وفسحة الأمل التي تحدوهما إلى مواصلة السير في لحظات القوة، ويتراوحان بين متعة الاكتشاف ووجع الصمود، وينخرطان في صراع غير متكافئ مع الطبيعة ينتهي بالتناغم معها والاندماج فيها. نقاط ضوء في غمرة هذا المخاض العسير، كان ثمة نقاط ضوء تلمع، في اللحظات الصعبة، لتشحن الرحالة بالقوة حتى بلوغ الخواتيم المنشودة، فحين يستبد بهما العطش في داكبول، ويشارفان الهلاك، يطلع لهما غرانت، صانع النبيذ، ويقلهما إلى مزرعته، ويوفر لهما سبل الراحة. وحين يفتقران إلى سقف يؤويهما في بولروان، على عتبة الشتاء، تؤمن لهما بولي، الصديقة القديمة، المأوى في غرفة كانت تستخدم لتقطيع اللحوم. يبقيان فيها حتى بداية الصيف، موعد استئناف المرحلة الثانية من رحلتهما. وحين يحتاجان إلى مأوى يقيمان فيه ليتابع موث دراسته في جامعة بولروان، تطلع لهما آنا، المرأة الصغيرة الرقيقة التي التقياها، خلال الرحلة، لتعرض عليهما استئجار شقة تملكها. على أن المفارق في هذه النقاط أنها تحصل جميعها بفعل الصدفة. وكأن الطبيعة، البشرية والأرضية، التي جارت عليهما في بداية الرحلة، وترجحا بين الصراع والتناغم معها خلال الرحلة، تأبى إلا أن تنصفهما في نهايتها. تحولات طارئة ثمة تحولات تطرأ على بطلي الرواية، على المستويين الجسدي والنفسي، خلال الرحلة، فعلى المستوى الأول، يستعيد موث مرونته وقدرته على الحركة، في ظاهرة غريبة مخالفة لتوقعات الأطباء، بعد أن كان يعاني تصلب العضلات والآلام المبرحة. وتنجح وين في التكيف مع شظف العيش والابتعاد عن نعم الحضارة. وعلى المستوى الثاني، يتخفف الزوجان من عبء الشعور بخسارة المنزل وفقدان المأوى والعمل والدخل. ويتحرران من التأسي على ما فات. ويصبحان أكثر قبولاً للمستجدات. ويشعران بالأمان والاستمرار والحرية. ويجددان ثقتهما بالحياة وأملهما بالمستقبل. وكثيراً ما كانت التفاصيل الصغيرة كافية لصناعة هذا التحول، فيتعللان بالقليل المتاح عن الكثير المفقود. تقول وين في التعبير عن ذلك التعلل: “لقد فقدنا كل شيء باستثناء أبنائنا وأنفسنا، ولكن لدينا العشب الرطب وإيقاع البحر على الصخور” (ص 243). وهكذا، تكون “درب الملح” درساً مركباً في مواجهة النوازل، وتحمل المشاق، واجتراح الأمل. فالإنسان، في نهاية المطاف، صنيعة أفكاره وخياراته ومبادراته. الراوية في “درب الملح” هي نفسها الروائية، وهي تروي ما عاشته بنفسها، وخبرته مع زوجها، وترسم الجلجلة التي قطعاها معاً، ما يجعل الرواية جزءاً من سيرتها الذاتية. ولعل في اعتمادها خطية الزمن، وتسمية الأشياء بأسمائها، وذكر الوقائع بتفاصيلها، وطغيان الحقيقي على المتخيل، ما يعزز البعد السيري في الرواية على حساب البعد الروائي، وهي تشتمل على مئات أسماء العلم للأماكن والرؤوس والخلجان والمدن والقرى والمقاطعات، بالتسلسل الرحلي، ما يجعل منها أطلساً مرسوماً بالكلمات، ويعكس تنوعاً جغرافيا كبيراً. والكاتبة لا تكتفي برصد ما تقع عليه حواسها، لا سيما حاسة البصر، خلال الرحلة، ولا يقتصر عملها على الوصف السردي لكل ما ترى أو تسمع أو تختبر، بل تفتح النص على حقول معرفية أخرى، فلا يعود مجرد معرفة جغرافية بالدرب الطويل. وتجعل منه مصدراً لمعارف متنوعة، بمقادير تختلف بين حقل وآخر، ما يجعل القراءة محفوفة بالمتعة والفائدة. حقول معرفية في هذا السياق، تذيل وين الفصل الأول من روايتها بخمس صفحات عن المشردين في المملكة المتحدة، والتشريعات التي ترعى وجودهم، ما يفتح النص على الاجتماعي والقانوني. وترصد حركة السكان وأنماط العيش في مدينة نيوكواي، في الفصل الثالث، ما يفتحه على الأنثروبولوجي. وتؤرخ لقاعدة نانسكيوك العسكرية، في الفصل نفسه، ما يطل على التاريخ العسكري. وتبدي ملاحظات عمرانية وفنية تفضي إلى تاريخ الفن. وتتناول الحياة البحرية والبيئية في كورنوال، ما يدخل في علم البيئة. وتستعيد واقعة غرق سفينة وقارب نجاة عند شاطئ ماوسهول، في الفصل الرابع، ما يحيل إلى التاريخ. وهكذا، نكون أمام نص روائي، معرفي متنوع، يعود منه الرحالة والقارئ بغنائم كثيرة. الرحلة في “درب الملح” ليست مجرد سياحة في المكان، تقوم بها الكاتبة، بفعل الضرورة أو الاختيار، بل فعل وجود تمارسه، على الخط الفاصل بين البداوة والحضارة، وتعبر عنه بقولها: “كنا نبحث في هذا الهامش الضيق بين البر والبحر عن طريقة أخرى للوجود، لنصبح متسلقي الحافة على طول الطريق” (ص 216). وبرأيي، لقد عثرت على تلك الطريقة، وحافظت على توازنها على الحافة، ولم تسقط في البر أو البحر.
