In a release at 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, police said the 36-year-old woman and three-year-old boy had last been seen at about 2 a.m. Saturday in Ruth Falls, in the Sheet Harbour area. Police said they were believed to be on foot. In an update around 1 p.m. Tuesday, RCMP said the woman’s body had been found by search teams. About an hour later, RCMP confirmed the boy had been found near the woman. The Mounties said the deaths were not believed to be suspicious at this time but the investigation was ongoing.
