More well-water testing kits are being made available as officials stress the importance of testing for people returning to areas that had been evacuation zones.
Officials have said wildfires could tarnish well water, and people should not drink it until testing is done.
On Wednesday morning, HRM announced test kits can be picked up at the Upper Hammonds Plains Community Centre on Pockwock Rd. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 6 and 8 p.m. After a sample is taken, the kits should be dropped off at the centre on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, before noon. If you picked up a test kit on Wednesday, Jun. 7, you would drop off the sample on Monday.

Since people are urged not to drink well water yet, there is also a water station set up at the community centre where people can bring their own containers to fill up on clean water.
