Thousands without power as thunderstorm rolls through Halifax

There are scattered power outages across the Halifax area as a strong thunderstorm rolled through on Friday afternoon.

As of 4:30 p.m., Nova Scotia Power was reporting around 2,500 customers were without power in the HRM.

The largest outage centered around Lacewood and Bayview in Clayton Park, impacting nearly 2,000 customers. Outages were also being reported in Burnside, Sackville and Otter Lake.

Most of the outages were expected to be restored by 6:30 p.m. Friday.
