Suspect sought after alleged sexual assault on Mainland Common

Police in Halifax are looking for a suspect after an alleged sexual assault earlier this week.

According to police, on May 1 around 1 p.m., a man approached a woman he did not know at the Lacewood transit terminal, lured her into an area of the nearby Mainland Common baseball field and sexually assaulted her.

HRP not offering any further detail out of respect for the victim.

The suspect is described by police as a black man in his 30’s, about 5’9″ with a thin build, brown hair and facial hair. The man was said to be wearing a dark-coloured winter jacket and sweatpants.
