The Halifax Regional Municipality says the top speed will be lowered to 40 km/h on Joseph Young Street and True North Crescent. In a news release, HRM says this is part of an ongoing initiative to improve road safety. Speed limits on public roadways are legislated by the province’s Motor Vehicle Act. “The province allows municipalities to request posted speed limits below 50 km/h if accompanied by necessary documentation including current operating speeds and roadway characteristics,” HRM says. “The speed limit reduction in these areas is being implemented following provincial approval based on available data and an assessment of roadway characteristics that meet their qualifications.” Crews will start the work this week. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post What happens when you call Crime Stoppers? next post Nova Scotia man wants answers after wife dies following seven-hour ER wait You may also like ‘A lot of uncertainty’ for Nova Scotia fishers... 3 فبراير، 2025 Maritimers less likely to travel to U.S. due... 3 فبراير، 2025 U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods paused for 30... 3 فبراير، 2025 Four arrested after gunshots ring out in Upper... 3 فبراير، 2025 محادثة صباحية بين ترامب وترودو تليها أُخرى بعد... 3 فبراير، 2025 No injuries reported as school bus, pickup truck... 3 فبراير، 2025 Halifax RCMP charge two people with firearms, drug... 3 فبراير، 2025 Why Nova Scotia MP Jaime Battiste dropped out... 3 فبراير، 2025 Trump agrees to pause tariffs on Mexico, but... 3 فبراير، 2025 Nova Scotia reveals plan to react to US... 2 فبراير، 2025
