RCMP looking for man facing over 20 charges

A Pictou County man has been evading police after an investigation and altercation led to him facing over a dozen offences.

According to the RCMP, Jason Sterling Carpenter is wanted province-wide. The 46-year-old is wanted in connection with an investigation into impaired operation of a conveyance that happened on Nov. 9.

Charges include assault peace officer with weapon (two counts), impaired operation of conveyance causing bodily harm, unauthorized possession of firearm and failure to comply with release order (seven counts).

The accused is described as 5’10” and about 200 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. As of Nov. 9, he did not have a beard, RCMP detail. He may be driving a red, older model GMC Sierra extended cab pick-up truck.

Officers have made several attempts to locate Carpenter and are now asking the public for help.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the accused is asked to refrain from approaching him and to call Pictou County District RCMP at 902-755-4141.
