The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) says the practice has become commonplace since the temporary rent cap was passed. The community adovocate group will gather at 11 a.m. for an “Action to Ban Fixed Term Leases” rally outside the Maritime Centre on Barrington Street. ACORN says fixed-term leases have allowed landlords to end leases and get around the rent cap, since rent increases don’t apply to new tenants. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Early cancer detection: N.S.
