Potential exposure to COVID-19 at locations in Central and Northern Zones, one WestJet flight

High-risk exposure on Saturday WestJet flight from Edmonton to Halifax

Nova Scotia Health Public Health is advising of potential exposure to COVID-19 at locations in Central and Northern Zones and on one WestJet flight. In addition to media releases, all potential exposure notifications are listed here.

Anyone who worked at or visited the following locations on the specified dates and times should visit this website to book a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not they have symptoms. You can also call 811 if you don’t have online access, or if you have other symptoms that concern you.

Low-risk exposures

For the following locations, if you do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 you do not need to self-isolate while you wait for your test result. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 you are required to self-isolate while you wait for your test result.

  • Pharmasave (158 Robert Angus Dr., Amherst) on September 4 between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including September 18.
  • Marshalls (75 Countryview Dr., Dartmouth) on September 2 between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including September 16.
  • Walmart (90 Lamont Terrace, Dartmouth) on September 2 between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including September 16.
  • Costco (137 Countryview Drive, Dartmouth) on September 3 between 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including September 17.

Moderate-risk exposures

Regardless of whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms, those present at the following location on the named date and times for at least 15 minutes are required to follow the self-isolation instructions noted in this table for moderate risk exposure, based on your vaccination status. COVID-19 testing is also recommended and if you get a positive result, you will be contacted by Public Health about what to do next.

  • Krave Burger (5680 Spring Garden Rd., Halifax) on September 2 between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 16.
  • Shiraz Restaurant (1240 Hollis St., Halifax) on September 3 between 5 and 6:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 17.
  • The Captain’s Boil (5680 Spring Garden Rd., Halifax) on September 3 between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 17.

High-risk exposure – Flight

Anyone who was on the following flights in the specified rows and seats are required to follow the isolation and testing instructions in this table as a high-risk contact.

  • WestJet 392 travelling on Sept. 4 from Edmonton (10:30 p.m.) to Halifax (6:10 a.m. on September 5) Passengers in rows 20-26, seats C, D, E and F. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 19.

To book your COVID-19 test visit this website, regardless of whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms. You can also call 811 if you don’t have online access or if you have other symptoms that concern you.

Anyone who is travelling within Canada into Nova Scotia, from outside of Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador, must follow the provincial travel regulations based on vaccination status. View details here.

Please note:

Please get tested at a primary assessment centre or public health mobile unit; do not go to a pop-up rapid testing location.

Nova Scotians also have the option to access their results online at c19results.nshealth.ca. To be eligible to receive results online, by email or by auto call, you need to bring a provincial health card or student ID with you to your testing appointment. It can take up to 72 hours to receive or access test results. It is not unusual for two or more family members to be tested at the same time and receive results at different times.
