On November 9, the Mounties responded to reports of an abandoned, burned vehicle on MacLean Road in Greenhill, and human remains were found inside the vehicle. Five days later the RCMP started investigation the reported disappearance of Kelly Trask, 32, from Truro, and said the circumstances around her disappearance were suspicious. The human remains have now been identified as those of Trask and Tyler Meagher, 34, from Grand Prarie, Alberta. The RCMP says the murder investigation is being supported by the fire marshall and the medical examiner service.
