Overnight parking ban extended as snow cleanup continues

by admin

CITYnews halifax / By Mark Hodgins

Drivers will have to find off-street parking for another night in the Halifax area.

The municipality has announced the overnight winter parking ban will be enforced in both zones from 1 to 6 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15. as crews continue to work to cleanup after Tuesday night’s nor’easter.

However in a post to social media, the municipal government is asking people to avoid parking on the street through the day on Wednesday to allow snow plows to get through.

“Please park off-street to allow crews to clear snow as quickly and efficiently as possible,” the municipality wrote on X.

HRM also said regardless of the status of an overnight winter parking ban, or whether you have received a notification, vehicles can be towed, day or night, at any time of year, if they are interfering with snow-clearing operations.
