The RCMP says human remains were found when emergency crews responded to a fire in Chester Grant on Tuesday.

Police, fire and EHS were called out to the fire on a property on Balsam Drive just before 6:30 a.m., the RCMP said.

“Upon arrival at the scene, first responders found a camper trailer fully engulfed in flames,” reads a media release from the Mounties. “After the fire was extinguished, the remains of an adult were located at the scene.”

Based on information and evidence gathered, criminality is not believed to be a factor at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
