(Halifax Harbour Bridges) CANADAHALIFAX news New digital traffic signs giving drivers real-time travel information by admin 21 يناير، 2026 written by admin 21 يناير، 2026 60 CITYnews halifax/ Chris Halef New digital signs are giving Nova Scotians who travel across the Halifax Harbour bridges each day a better idea of how long their trips may take. According to the Nova Scotia Government, there are now 11 variable message signs in key corridors around HRM that provide real-time messages using information from Bluetooth and Wi-Fi sensors that calculate average travel times between certain points. “The harbour bridges are a critical part of the region’s transportation network,” said Tony Wright, CEO, Halifax Harbour Bridges. “For the people who rely on them every day, having clear, practical, real-time traffic information matters. By using technology to provide this insight, travellers can better understand current conditions and make informed decisions.” The province said the variable message signs are active on major approaches to both the MacKay and Macdonald bridges, providing road users with up-to-the-minute information about traffic conditions. “Modernizing how we manage traffic is essential as our region continues to grow,” said Public Works Minister Fred Tilley. “Our government is providing clear, timely information as one tool we can use to improve the daily commute while longer-term transportation projects are underway.” 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post More than 13,000 customers still without power in Nova Scotia after storm next post القوات المسلحة الكندية تدرس سيناريو غزو أميركي والردّ عليه You may also like Diesel prices to shift again in Nova Scotia... 6 مارس، 2026 Halifax Water investigating ‘privacy incident’ on its online... 6 مارس، 2026 Halifax teens lament the loss of government program... 6 مارس، 2026 Spring Garden area businesses call out paid parking... 6 مارس، 2026 Five men face obstruction charges related to Dartmouth... 2026 ‘A terrible idea’: Halifax to raise parking fees,... 6 مارس، 2026
