The federal carbon price is set to rise by $15 a tonne to $80 next month. Premier Tim Houston said the Apr. 1 increase will add another 3.3 cents per litre of gasoline for a total of 17.6 cents per litre in carbon tax at the pumps. Liberal leader Zach Churchill meantime said Nova Scotia has gone from one of the most affordable provinces in Canada to one of the least and people here can’t afford the increase. Both men shared letters to Justin Trudeau on social media. Churchill asked Trudeau to stop the increase, and Houston urged Ottawa to scrap the carbon tax altogether. Several premiers have voiced concern about the planned increase. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Cape Breton coal mine closed by roof falls allowed to resume year-round operations next post Le budget Girard pourrait nuire à l’industrie du jeu vidéo au Québec You may also like Alderney service back to reduced schedule three days... 22 مايو، 2026 Gas prices to change again as interrupter is... 22 مايو، 2026 First-degree murder charge laid in case of missing... 22 مايو، 2026 N.S. resort is the latest using high-tech blankets... 22 مايو، 2026 Drugs and weapons seized at a home in... 22 مايو، 2026 Carney says Alberta plays ’essential’ role in building... 22 مايو، 2026 Pentagon doubles down on Canada rebuke with demand... 22 مايو، 2026 Some FIFA World Cup fans ’flabbergasted’ by ticket... 22 مايو، 2026 Alberta to hold fall referendum on whether to... 22 مايو، 2026 Référendum : Mark Carney appelle les Albertains à... 22 مايو، 2026
