Power offers credit monitoring to cyberattack victims by admin 14 مايو، 2025 written by admin 14 مايو، 2025 222 CITYnews halifax / By Mark Hodgins Nova Scotia’s electrical utility says customers impacted by a recent “cyber incident” will be offered free credit monitoring as the investigation into the situation continues. In an update on Wednesday, Nova Scotia Power says work is ongoing to determine the scope of the impact and then rebuild impacted systems. “While the investigation remains ongoing, we have determined that on or around March 19, 2025, certain customer information stored on the impacted servers was accessed and later taken by an unauthorized third party,” the utility wrote in an update on its website. Nova Scotia Power says the types of impacted personal information may include the following, depending on the information provided by a customer: Name Phone number Email address Mailing and service addresses Date of birth Account history, including billing and credit history Driver’s license number Social insurance number The utility also says bank account numbers used for pre-authorized payments may have been impacted if that information was provided by a customer. The utility says as a precaution, it has made arrangements to offer a free, two-year subscription to the credit monitoring service Transunion.
