The Nova Scotia Energy Board adjusts gas and diesel prices every Friday partly based on the global market price of oil (Steve Gow) CANADAHALIFAX news N.S. gas prices hold firm, diesel drops slightly in weekly adjustment by admin 8 مايو، 2026 written by admin 8 مايو، 2026 57 CITYnews halifax / By Steve Gow As global oil prices continue to see fluctuations amid the war in Iran, it has helped to somewhat stabilize fuel prices here in Nova Scotia. On Thursday, the June crude oil contract finished down 27 cents US to sit at US$94.81 per barrel. In part due to that slight decline, there was no jump at the pump from the provincial regulator in its weekly adjustment on Friday. Instead, the Nova Scotia Energy Board dropped the price of diesel by 2.5 cents per litre to sit at 213.0. There was no change to gas prices at midnight so they remain at 191.7 cents per litre in Halifax. This time last year, Nova Scotians were paying 1.39 for gasoline and diesel was priced at 1.33 cents per litre.
