Matthew Simon Harrie was last seen outside his home in Wittenburg, east of Shubenacadie, on September 20, 2020. He was reported missing six days later. Harrie, who was 35 at the time, spoke regularly with his parents, but he has not had any contact with friends or family since that time. Investigators believe there are people with information that could help them find him. Now that the case has been added to the province’s crime rewards program, those with tips leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible are eligible for a reward of up to $150,000. “When a loved one goes missing, it has ripple effects throughout the community,” said Justice Minister Brad Johns in a news release. “I urge you to come forward if you think you have information that might help solve this missing person case.” All calls to the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program at 1-888-710-9090 are recorded. Those who come forward have to provide their name and contact information, and may be called to testify in court.
