Halifax Regional Police were called to The B.P. Corner News on Barrington Street across from Scotia Square at around 3:15 a.m. They say a man broke the front window of the store and tried to get in before running off. While officers investigated, they were told of two more break-ins in the same area. The first was at Snaxx on Upper Water Street near Halifax Transit’s Water Street Terminal. Police believe the suspect broke a window but wasn’t able to get into the business. Then the glass door of the Nic Nax General Store on Hollis Street near Prince was smashed and police say the suspect ran off with stolen merchandise. A K9 unit helped track a suspect down, who was arrested a little further south on Hollis.
