Man arrested after RCMP seize explosives from home in Chester Basin

Lunenburg RCMP arrested a man after seizing multiple weapons and explosives from a home in Chester Basin.

On Jan. 21, Mounties received a report of a man who made threats involving firearms.

Police said an investigation was launched which lead to officers searching a home in Chester Basin on Jan. 23 where they seized nine firearms including two restricted firearms, ammunition and magazines, improvised incendiary devices (IIDs), and unassembled parts for the construction of IIDs.

RCMP said a Chester Basin man was safely arrested at the Lunenburg District RCMP detachment in Chester where he was released by police pending an upcoming court appearance to face firearms-related charges.
