Police in Halifax say a junior high school student was injured after an assault involving a pair of scissors on Tuesday.

In a media release, Halifax Regional Police says officers were called to St. Agnes Junior High on Mumford Road just before noon.

“It was reported that a youth was assaulted by another youth with a pair of scissors,” police wrote.

HRP says the victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the suspect was arrested.

No other injuries were reported, and police say the investigation is ongoing.
