Police in Bridgewater are investigating after finding the human remains of a person who had been reported missing.

On Wednesday, Bridgewater Police posted on social media that investigators had uncovered the body in a secluded wooded area near Forest Hill Road in Bridgewater.

The agency says a K9 team had made the discovery, although a drone was also used in the search.

Police were asking the public to avoid the area as they investigated what they described as a “suspicious death.”

Few other details were provided but police did say the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner has been called in, as is protocol for all suspicious deaths.
