Atlantic Canada is set to get hit with another set of heavy winds, according to Environment Canada.

A wind warning is in place for the northeast regions of Nova Scotia including Guysborough County, Richmond County, Cape Breton County, and Inverness County.

According to the weather agency, Cape Breton is anticipated to experience southeasterly winds of up to 90 km/h. Those wind gusts could reach 120 km/h in Inverness County.

The high winds may also be accompanied by rain. The forecast for Cape Breton Highlands National Park predicts showers all through Sunday afternoon and evening, carrying throughout the week until Wednesday morning. At times rain showers might be mixed with snow as temperatures drop.

Parts of New Brunswick are expected to get a dumping of snow, with 15 cm forecasted over a prolonged period. Environment Canada predicts some melting and compacting will occur and is reminding people to drive carefully.

“Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will likely be reduced at times,” the snowfall warning states.

Parts of Newfoundland are also due for significant snowfall as well as heavy winds. In areas along the coast, wind gusts could reach 140 km/h.
