Halifax Transit bus driver charged with impaired driving

Halifax Regional Police say officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Long Lake Dr. around 11:30 Thursday night. Upon arrival, officers learned that the driver had driven the bus into a ditch while attempting to make a turn.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the incident.

Officers at the scene say they detected signs of impairment from the driver and demanded a roadside screen test. The driver failed and was arrested,

The driver is set to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date
