Of those, 24 were charged with impaired operation of a conveyance by alcohol, four of which were at least twice the legal limit. Another three received driving suspensions for operating a conveyance while having consumed alcohol and six were charged with impaired operation of a conveyance by a drug. Seven were charged with refusing to provide a breath sample. Anyone who spots a driver they suspect is impaired is asked to call 911. It will help if you can give the call taker your location along with a description of the vehicle — including the licence plate number, colour, make and model — the direction it was headed and a description of the driver. HRP received 15 of those calls in October.
