For the last two years, the Halifax Pride Festival has had to host a mix of in-person and virtual small-scale events due to the ongoing pandemic. But with restrictions lifting, the Halifax Pride Society staff and board hope to run a full-scale festival this year, including the popular parade. “We’re incredibly excited about the opportunity to reconnect with community members, and we know the parade is a highlight of the festival for many,” said Halifax Pride Chair, Frances Dadin-Alli in a news release. “We know folks want to be together, reflect, and celebrate as a community on a large scale again. It’s been a long time since we could enjoy each other’s company fully, and everyone is excited to get out there safely.” The 2022 Halifax Pride Festival is scheduled to take place from July 14 to 24, with the parade set for a noon start on Saturday, July 16. All events will follow public health guidelines and festival plans will be amended as necessary. Organizers caution construction may require some slight changes to the usual parade route. Those wanting to be involved can start submitting applications as of today, and there is no fee for 2SLGBTQ+ community groups and 2SLGBTQ+ non-profits. “We look forward to the parade’s return and know that it will be one of many fantastic opportunities for community members to gather and reconnect at the festival,” said Adam Reid, the executive director of Halifax Pride. “Organizations that want to be involved in the parade or take part as festival sponsors are encouraged to reach out.” 13 comments 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post Advocacy group applauds move to increase pay for CCAs next post FIVE P.E.I. minor hockey players suspended 25 games over racial slurs toward Halifax player You may also like Diesel prices to shift again in Nova Scotia... 6 March، 2026 Halifax Water investigating ‘privacy incident’ on its online... 6 March، 2026 Halifax teens lament the loss of government program... 6 March، 2026 Spring Garden area businesses call out paid parking... 6 March، 2026 ‘A terrible idea’: Halifax to raise parking fees,... 6 March، 2026 Leave a Comment Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
