Halifax police searching for a suspect after man is held up at knifepoint

Halifax Regional Police were called to the 1000 block of Barrington St after a report that a man had his wallet stolen at knifepoint in broad daylight on Barrington Street Sunday afternoon.

Police say the victim was walking in the area around 3:20 p.m. when another man approached and flashed a knife before leaving the area with the man’s wallet.  No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described to police as a white man wearing a dark black or blue waist-length coat, black boots with grey fur trim and a baseball hat.

Anyone with information or video from the area is asked to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or using the P3 Tips app.
