CITYnews halifax / By Mark Hodgins

Drivers around Halifax Regional Municipality have no shortage of construction delays to deal with right now, and police say that means drivers need to be paying extra attention.

In a post on X, Halifax Regional Police said Summer is a peak season for construction and awareness is key to keeping yourself and workers safe.

Police said people should always pay close attention to sign flaggers, be prepared to stop suddenly in construction zones, and give workers and equipment a safe amount of space.

Drivers are also asked to keep calm when you meet construction traffic delays and never drive while distracted.

Some of the more notable construction projects happening around the HRM currently include the Cogswell District Project as well as construction near the Halifax Infirmary as part of the QEII redevelopment project, among others.
