Police said on Saturday at roughly 1:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had struck gravestones in a cemetery on Victoria Road in Dartmouth. The plate from the suspect vehicle had been reported as stolen. According to HRP, they attempted to stop the vehicle a short time later near Richmond Street in Halifax but the driver refused to stop and out of concern for public safety, police did not continue their pursuit. Then roughly an hour later, police said they found the vehicle abandoned on North Park Street where the suspects at struck a parked vehicle before fleeing on foot but officers eventually tracked down and arrested three suspects in the area without further incident. Kyle Gordon Joseph Buffett, 20, was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court Monday to face charges of: Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 Flight from peace officer Dangerous operation of a conveyance Operation of a conveyance while prohibited (x2) Failure to stop after an accident Operation of a conveyance while impaired Failure or refusal to comply with demand for testing Fail to comply with conditions of a probation order (x5) Jayden Edward Stephen Carvery, 19, was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Monday to face charges of: Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 Carvery was also arrested in relation to an outstanding warrant for his arrest for theft of a motor vehicle and trespass by night.
