A man has been arrested following a weapons complaint in Bedford Tuesday afternoon.

Halifax Regional Police (HRP) said at around 2:30 p.m., officers responded to Tophill Road in connection to a weapons investigation.

As a result, the road was closed for a short time as police conducted their operations.

Police say a 38-year-old man has been arrested without incident and the road has since reopened.

HRP adds there was never any threat to public safety.
