But union president Christina Covert says a significant number of members voted against the offer, and more work needs to be done to improve pay and working conditions for library staff. The union did not share details of the agreement. About 340 workers at libraries across the Halifax region have been on strike since Aug. 26 as they fought for improvements to wages they said were far behind other libraries in Canada. Covert says union members are grateful for the public support they received throughout the strike, and she believes that support was instrumental in reaching an agreement. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail admin previous post ‘Shogun’ and ‘Hacks’ win top series Emmy Awards and ‘The Bear’ and ‘Baby Reindeer’ take 4 apiece next post New MRI machine up and running at QEII You may also like World Cup trophy tour comes to Halifax 23 مايو، 2026 Halifax police warn public to watch their drinks... 2026 Alderney service back to reduced schedule three days... 22 مايو، 2026 Gas prices to change again as interrupter is... 22 مايو، 2026 First-degree murder charge laid in case of missing... 22 مايو، 2026 N.S. resort is the latest using high-tech blankets... 22 مايو، 2026 Drugs and weapons seized at a home in... 22 مايو، 2026
