Fletchers Lake man killed by train: RCMP

Halifax Mounties are investigating a fatal collision that left one man dead near Wellington, N.S.

RCMP officers say that on Friday, at around 6:23 p.m., police and emergency services responded to a person who was hit by an eastbound passenger train near Highway 2 in Wellington.

Police say they found a 41-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers say the investigation is ongoing and is being assisted by the Medical Examiner Service.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this difficult time,” wrote the RCMP in a media release.
