According to Halifax Regional Police, Brandon Reginald Polegato was found dead in an apartment building on Washmill Lake Drive just before 9 p.m. on February 7, 2021. Police say Polegato’s death was later ruled a homicide by the medical examiner. “Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help solve Brandon’s homicide,” read a media release from police. “They are asking anyone with information to do the right thing and come forward with what they know; even the smallest piece of information could be the key to progressing the investigation.” The case is a part of the province’s unsolved crimes reward program, offering a cash reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
