Ferry service back on schedule after return of vessel: Halifax Transit

by admin

CITYnews halifax / By Steve Gow

The Halifax Regional Municipality says the Alderney ferry between Dartmouth and Halifax is returning to its regular schedule.

Beginning Tuesday at 10:15 a.m., service will return to every 15 minutes on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. because the Vincent Coleman ferry will be back in use.

The cross-harbour ferry has been out of commission since January due to a steering system issue that required specialized replacement parts.

In January, the municipality had stated that repairs were expected to be completed and the ferry returned to service by the end of the month.

The Craig Blake ferry continues to undergo scheduled inspections, as well as a significant repair, and will not be available for service until later this year.
