The Alert Ready system will be tested on Wednesday.

In Nova Scotia, the test alert is expected at 1:55 p.m. on TV, radio and cell phones.

“If you receive the test alert, no action is required by you. Do not call 911 – it is for emergencies only,” Nova Scotia EMO said in a tweet.

The alert is being tested across the country.
