Diesel prices drop, gas holds steady in weekly adjustment

by admin

CITYnews halifax / By Steve Gow

The price of regular self-serve gasoline holds steady in Halifax at 162.0 cents per litre on Friday.

Every Friday, the Nova Scotia Energy Board adjusts weekly pump prices, but on the heels of an interrupter on Monday that saw gas prices increase by 9.3 cents, the regulator did not make any changes overnight.

However, diesel prices did see a decrease of 5.3 cents at midnight to 211.1 cents.

Changes in weekly pump prices occur partly as a result of the market price of oil, which we have seen skyrocket since the war in the Middle East began, with prices now hovering near $100 per barrel.

One year ago, Nova Scotians were paying 1.55 for gasoline and diesel prices were set at 1.79.
