A man is facing charges for his alleged role in a serious crash northeast of Halifax.

The crash happened around the noon hour on Friday on Old Guysborough Rd. in Elderbank. According to police, a Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Equinox collided head-on.

The 33-year-old Cole Harbour woman driving the Equinox and a child in the car were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The two people in the F-150 weren’t hurt, but police say the 25-year-old Brookville man who’d been driving the truck was showing signs of drug impairment. He was taken to the Enfield RCMP detachment where police say he failed a drug test.

It also turned out the Ford had been stolen, police allege, from a Lake Echo parking lot on July 9.

The driver is facing a long list of charges and was expected to appear in court on Monday.
