CITYnews halifax: Police call for information after man shot dead in Dartmouth

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a fatal shooting that was reported late Friday.

According to a release, officers were dispatched around 10:30 p.m. to Lahey Road in Dartmouth after reports of a shooting.

Responding officers say they found a 39-year-old man who had been shot.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say they are not treating the shooting as a random act.

Few other details were released but the Major Crime Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.
