CITYnews halifax: Large house fire causing traffic disruptions on Highway 7

Crews from Halifax travelled 34 kilometres away to battle a difficult house fire on Monday morning.

According to the release by Halifax Professional Fire Fighters, the union for the service, members are tackling a blaze on Highway 7 in Murphy Cove. The call came in at 5:30 a.m., and when firefighters arrived, there were heavy fire conditions.

A photo release by the union shows a large white house fully engulfed in flames.

Just before 9:00 a.m., crews were still on scene, aggressively attacking the flames.

Vehicles travelling through the area should expect traffic slowdowns on Highway 7 in the area.
