RCMP are investigating what they are calling a suspicious death in Antigonish County.

According to the Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit, officers were dispatched Sunday to Upper Big Tracadie to investigate a fire in a home.

Once the fire was put out, officers say they found the body of a man nearby on the property.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service and the Office of the Fire Marshal have been called in and further information will be shared as it becomes available.

Few other details have been released but investigators say they do not believe this case is related to the homicide reported in West Arm Tracadie on May 21.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit at 902-365-3120 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers, toll-free, at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submit a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
