As community clinics wind down, there’s still a couple of spots you can drop-in and get a COVID-19 vaccine

The Dartmouth General Drive-Thru Community Vaccine Clinic and the IWK COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic are still operating for now

Most of the province’s community clinics have closed, but there are still two spots you can drop-in and get a first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine without an appointment.

The Dartmouth General Drive-Thru Community Vaccine Clinic behind Dartmouth General Hospital is still open this week. You can pop by between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

It offers both Moderna (for those 18+) and Pfizer (for those 12+).

If you want to use the drive-thru clinic, you’ll have to go this week. Saturday, Aug. 21 is the last day it will be open.

The IWK COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic also has Pfizer on hand for drop-ins that are at least 12 years old.

It’s open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be closing at the end of the day on Friday, Aug. 27.

Anyone who received Pfizer as their first dose can get their second Pfizer or Moderna after 21 days have passed. It needs to be at least a 28-day wait between doses for anyone who has already had Moderna or Astra Zeneca.

Nova Scotians can also book a vaccine appointment at a pharmacy through the province’s website, or by calling 1-833-797-7772.

As of Tuesday, Aug. 17, 68.2 per cent of Nova Scotians have had two doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
