Generally reservations open around this time, but this year that’s being delayed until March. That’s because Parks Canada is updating it’s reservation system platform. “The look and feel will be different, but the features and functions will be similar,” the agency promises on it’s website. Prospective campers who want to know what sites they’ve booked in the past are being asked to log into their existing account on the Parks Canada website before February 26. Migration to the new platform will take place between February 27 and March 2, and Canadians can create their new accounts as of March 3. Nova Scotians can start booking oTENKiks at Grand-Pré National Historic Site at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 17. At 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, reservations open for Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Those who want a site at Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site will have to wait until 8 a.m. on Friday, March 31. Campers looking to explore the Maritimes this summer can book Parks Canada sites in New Brunswick as of Friday, March 17, and reservations for Prince Edward Island National Park open Saturday, March 18.
