Woman charged with robbing Bedford Highway business

A woman has been charged with robbing a Bedford Highway business.

Halifax Regional Police were called to the Circle K near Kearney Lake Road at around 10:40 p.m. Friday.

They say when staff approached a woman who had been stealing merchandise, they were threatened with a weapon.

A suspect was arrested the next day at a nearby hotel.

Samantha Jeanne Forbes, 31, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of robbery and breach of probation.

Forbes is also facing seven counts of theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and breach of probation in relation to seven other incidents.
