Saturday marked the 45th anniversary of Judy Geraldine Parks’ murder, and the RCMP is continuing to investigate the case.

On Oct. 9, 1976, a badly decomposed body was discovered in a wooded area off of Highway 103 near Timberlea.

The body had been partially covered up for concealment, but police later identified the body as 14-year-old Parks and that she was a victim of homicide.

According to the investigation, the victim had been reported missing by a family member on July 11, 1976.

Parks was living at 2 Keating Rd. in apartment 303 in Armdale at the time of her disappearance.

She was last seen on the evening of July 10, 1976.

“Police believe there are persons who have information that could result in an arrest and possible charges,” a news release says.
