The RCMP says the five-year-old child who was reported missing from Cooks Brooks Rd. has been located and is safe.

It comes after an alert was issued on Friday morning, warning the public to be on the lookout for a missing child from Elderbank.

The RCMP thanks Nova Scotians for assisting with missing persons files through social media shares and offering tips.
