In a release, the province said Silver Crescent Academy Society will build a new childcare centre in Halifax’s Bayers Lake Business Park. “These child-care spaces will be essential for families who live in the area as well as those who pass through on their way to work,” said Adegoke Fadare, MLA for Clayton Park West, on behalf of Education Minister Brendan Maguire in the release. Expected to open late this year, the new centre will have up to 120 spaces, up from 71 at the current location in Rockingham. Located at 155 Chain Lake Dr., it will have spaces for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. According to the province, this is the 18th project announced under the department’s major infrastructure program.
