The RCMP in East Hants is investigating a Sunday morning crash in Shubenacadie that killed one person and left another with life-threatening injuries.

According to police, emergency crews were called to the scene at Highway 2 and Densmore Road just before 10 a.m. on April 26.

“Officers learned that a southbound Chevrolet Cruze turning left onto Densmore Road and a southbound Land Rover Discovery collided,” the Mounties said in a media release.

Police said the 47-year-old Manitoba man driving the Chevrolet was killed in the crash. The driver of the Land Rover, a 33-year-old man from Dartmouth, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two adult passengers in the Land Rover were taken to hospital by EHS with non-life-threatening injuries.

Highway 2 was closed for several hours on Sunday but has since reopened.

Police said the investigation was ongoing.
