Halifax Regional Police investigators are asking anyone with information regarding a death following reports of gunshots fired to come forward.
Just after 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to multiple reports of gunshots being fired in the area of Lahey Road and Clarence Street in Dartmouth. Police say officers located two people with gunshot wounds and immediately provided first aid.
Two adults, one male and one female, were transported to hospital where the male victim was pronounced dead. Police say the females injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police are calling the death suspicious and have opened an investigation with the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division. Officers will remain present at the scene as the investigation continues.
Police also note the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is conducting an autopsy.
