CANADAHALIFAX news Winter shelter to open in Dartmouth mid-November by admin 3 نوفمبر، 2023 written by admin 3 نوفمبر، 2023 189 By CityNews Halifax Staff Halifax will see the opening of the Winter season’s first temporary cold shelter later this month. The province will start with 50 beds opening at a shelter in Dartmouth for people of all genders which will operate nightly until the Spring. Upwards Mobility Kitchens East will provide a meal and breakfast with the province funding the building rental, operating costs and wraparound services. Volunteer organization 902 Man Up will staff the Windmill Road shelter as well as connect clients to services and programming including housing and harm reductions supports. The province is also investing in emergency shelters in Amherst and Bridgewater, while 200 pallet shelters will be put up across Nova Scotia, 100 of them in HRM.
