CANADAكندا عربي موجة الجفاف والحرّ تهدّد موسم الحصاد في مقاطعة مانيتوبا by admin 12 أغسطس، 2021 written by admin 12 أغسطس، 2021 162 راديو كندا الدولي \ RCI تجتاح مانيتوبا موجة من الجفاف والحرّ الشديد تفتك بالمزروعات وتهدّد موسم الحصاد في المقاطعة وبلغ الجفاف مستوى من الحدّة (نافذة جديدة) في قرية اكسلسيور الريفيّة الواقعة في جنوب المقاطعة، دفع بالمسؤولين إلى إعلان حالة طوارئ محليّة بسبب ما قالوا إنّها “كارثة زراعيّة”. وكانت موجة الجفاف في تمّوز يوليو الفائت الأسوأ في مانيتوبا منذ عام 1873، و تسبّبت بجفاف مصادر المياه وامتصّت رطوبة التربة في العاصمة وينيبيغ . و ترافقت موجة الجفاف مع تكاثر الجراد للعام الرابع على التوالي في هذه المقاطعة الواقعة في وسط الغرب الكندي. ويقول المزارع ستيوارت دوغن إنّه لم يكن متفائلا بموسم الحصاد هذه السنة، بسبب نقص الأمطار والحرّ الشديد. ويزرع دوغن القمح والشعير و بذور الكانولا والبازيلا في مزرعته التي تفوق مساحتها بقليل 2 كيلومتر مربّع، ويشعر بالقلق على غرار الكثير من المزارعين في مانيتوبا. تثير موجة الجفاف التي تجاح مانيتوبا قلق المزارعين ومربّي الماشيةالصورة: RADIO-CANADA / JAISON EMPSON ويقول إنّ لديه حزام أمان، يتمثّل في صفوف الأشجار التي زرعها لِحماية المحاصيل من الرياح، خلافا لِسواه من المزارعين الذين استبدلوا الأشجار بمزيد من المحاصيل. وتمتصّ الأشجار كما يقول، مياه الثلوج خلال فصل الشتاء، وتحافظ على رطوبة الأرض خلال فصل الربيع. ويتوقّع المزارع ستيوارت دوغن أن تتجاوز عائداتُه تلك التي حقّقها عام 1988، عام الجفاف في مانيتوبا. ويعزو السبب إلى البذور من نوعيّة أفضل وزراعة الأشجار في مزرعته، وقلب التربة ويشير إلى أنّه من الصعب أن نسيطر على أمّنا الطبيعة. ويقول ريجان بيكار، مستشار المنتجات الزراعيّة في وزارة الزراعة في مانيتوبا، إنّه قلّما شاهد هذا المستوى من الجفاف منذ أن باشر العمل عام 1988. ويقول إنّ هذه السنة تتميّز بطقسها الجاف والحار والقليل الأمطار، وتراجع عائدات الزراعة على نطاق واسع. ويضيف أنّ الجفاف وتراجع كميّات الأمطار يشمل كافّة أنحاء مانيتوبا، ورغم أنّ بعض المزروعات تتحمّل الحرّ مثل بذور دوّار الشمس والذرة والصويا، إلّا أنّها تحتاج إلى الرطوبة كي تنمو. وتثير موجة الجفاف قلق المزارعين في مانيتوبا وتؤثّر في صحّتهم النفسيّة حسب ما قالت جمعيّة المنتجين الزراعيّين Keystone Agricultural Producers، في المقاطعة. ويقول رئيس الجمعيّة بيل كامبل إنّ الجمعيّة قلقة للغاية من الإرهاق النفسي الذي يتسبّب به الجفاف للمزارعين. ويضيف أنّ العزل الذي أدّت إليه جائحة كوفيد-19 أثّر في النسيج الاجتماعي في المناطق الريفيّة، ممّا يشكّل أحد العوامل التمسبّبة بمشاكل نفسيّة لدى المزارعين. ودعا كامبل المزارعين إلى التعاون في ما بينهم والاهتمام ببعضهم البعض وتقديم المساعدة في حال لاحظوا سلوكا غير طبيعي.
