حفلة مشروع ليلى مساء الجمعة 9 أغسطس 2019، منعاً لإراقة الدماء وحفاظاً على الأمن والاستقرار، خلافاً لممارسات البعض نأسف لما حصل، ونعتذر من الجمهور”. استدعاء وتحقيق ولقاء مع المطران وكانت الفرقة قوبلت، منذ نحو أسبوعين، بغضب شعبي وحملة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي تدعو إلى إلغاء أمسيتها، رفضاً لما تقدّمه من أغانٍ تمسّ بالشعائر الدينية المسيحية. وإثر ذلك، استدعت المديرية العامة لأمن الدولة أعضاء الفرقة للتحقيق معهم، قبل أن تأمر القاضية غادة عون بإخلاء سبيلهم، شرط أن يلتقوا راعي أبرشية جبيل للموارنة المطران ميشال عون، ما رآه البعض غير قانوني. وعلى الرغم من لقائهم المطران، طالبت اللجنة الأسقفية لوسائل بشعائرها وإيمان أبنائها… وإن رفضها لهذه الفرقة والعرض الذي تؤديه، عائد لما تقدّمه من أفكار وأعمال تتهكّم على العقيدة الإيمانية والرموز الدينية وتشوه صورة الله كما تعلّمها الكنيسة”. وكان قائد الفرقة حامد سنو، الذي يجاهر بمثليته الجنسية، نشر عبر صفحته على “فيسبوك” صورة أيقونة استُبدل فيها وجه السيدة العذراء بوجه المغنية الأميركية مادونا. الوضع أصبح “هستيرياً” وأوضح المدير الفني لمهرجان بيبلوس ناجي باز، لـ”وكالة الصحافة الفرنسية” أن القرار جاء بعدما أصبح الوضع “هستيرياً بوجود تهديدات مباشرة لأمن الجمهور والفنانين وسلامتهم”، مؤكداً أن “القرار فرض ذاته لأننا في اللجنة المنظمة أشخاص مسؤولون… حاولنا قدر المستطاع التوصّل إلى حل”. ورداً على سؤال لمعرفة سبب عدم اعتذار الفرقة، قال باز “يعتذر الشخص عندما يكون مخطئاً ولست متاكداً من أن هذا الاعتذار كان سيكون كافياً لأن الأمور خرجت عن السيطرة وكان من الضروري اتخاذ هذا القرار، المريع لنا”، مشيراً إلى أن “القضاء طلب منا التوصّل إلى تسوية مع المسؤولين، لكن هذا الأمر كان صعباً جداً”. وقفة تضامنية مع الفرقة: مع ليلى وضدّ الذئب وفي مقابل الرفض الذي واجهته الفرقة، اعتبر البعض أن إلغاء الحفلة يشكّل اعتداءً على حرية التعبير والحريات العامة. وفي هذا الصدد، نظّم عدد من الناشطين وقفةً تضامنية مع أعضاء “مشروع ليلى” في ساحة سمير قصير وسط بيروت الاثنين 29 يوليو، حملوا فيها لافتات كُتب عليها “مع ليلى وضدّ الذئب” و”إذا خايف عإيمانك من غنية راجع إيمانك مش الغنية” و”لا لتجّار الدين”. وقالت الصحافية ديانا مقلّد، التي شاركت في الوقفة، لوكالة الصحافة الفرنسية “اتُخذت إجراءات لكمّ (الأفواه) أخيراً. وقف وتهديد فرقة مشروع ليلى مؤشر خطير في لبنان للمستوى الذي وصلت إليه عمليات الترهيب والقمع. هناك أغنية أزعجت بعض الأشخاص، وعوض أن يقاطعوا الأغنية أو
